Only five players, including Robert Lewandowski, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thomas Muller, scored more goals in qualifying than the seven Lafferty plundered en route to France. His importance to Michael O’Neill’s team is hard to overstate, even if he cannot get a game for his own club Norwich City.
